conventions of a music magazine (front cover)

The masthead shows the title of the magazine making it regonisable, this is usually in big bold writing for the audience to clearly see what the magazine is called.
Main storylines are used to catch the readers attention and inform the audience of what stories are in the magazine that may appeal to them.
The use of a medium shot on the front cover of a magazine is to catch the audiences eye, it allows the audience to see the body language and facial expressions used to create the image of the genre of the magazine.
The use of an instrument in my magazine front cover reflects the music genre that is featuring in my magazine (indie rock).
the date line and issue number allows the audience to know if they are behind on their reading of the magazine and may encourage them to by the next or previous copy.
The use of a web address echos the fact that this is a new media i.e it reflects the young audience by useing a new source of information.
